Visit the Gulf of Morbihan, Vannes, the departement of Morbihan and South Brittany

One of the most beautiful bay in the world

The campsite of Penboch is located in Southern Brittany in the small town of Arradon , a few minutes away from Vannes , on the coast of the Gulf of Morbihan.

The gulf is situated between the Morbihan coast with Auray , Locmariaquer, Carnac , La Trinite sur Mer , Quiberon peninsula on one side and the Rhuys peninsula, Sarzeau, La Roche Bernard on the other side, so it is almost like an inland sea.

The Gulf of Morbihan is one of the most visited places in Brittany, and is a member of the very exclusive club: "The most Beautiful Bays in the World".
The gulf is sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean by the peninsula of Rhuys and by Locmariaquer and therefore benefits from the sunny temperate climate.

This interior sea is scattered with islands, 365 according to a legend but in reality the gulf has about 40, depending on the tide. Many islands are private property, except the largest two, l'Ile-aux-Moines and l'Ile-d'Arz .
It is a magical place where sea, land and sky mix together to create magnificent landscapes that change with the tides. You can enjoy them on a boat trip or wander alongside the coast.

The Gulf of Morbihan is an idyllic holiday destination blessed with coastal paths, harbours, boat trips to the islands, and regattas. The camping of Penboch is ideally located to for sailing, fishing, rambling (footpath GR34 ) or sunbathing on the beach.
Ask at the campsite reception if you wish to book a cruise to visit the Gulf of Morbihan or decide to adventure further to the island of Belle Ile .

A few minutes from the campsite: The medieval town of Vannes with its remarkable heritage.

The Morbihan department is the only department with a Breton name. Morbihan , Ar Mor Biha: in Breton this means little sea.

The department of Morbihan is a land of many landscapes with its moorlands, its rivers, its valleys, and gulf and for that reason it deserves a visit long enough to enjoy it all.
